The brother of Matthew, ‘The Lure’ never reached the heights of his sibling during his short AFL career. A natural ball winner, Lloyd was picked at 67 in the 1997 National Draft after an impressive season with the Hawthorn reserves that saw him win the Gardiner Medal.
However a lack of leg speed meant his senior appearances were limited to just 11 over two years. A twenty-possession game against Richmond in just his second match seemed to indicate a promising future, but Lloyd never seemed to be a part of Ken Judge’s plans and he was delisted at the end of 1999.
Lloyd returned to his original club of Williamstown where he is still playing. |
