Originally from Thornbury, O’Keefe first played for Northcote in the VFA before joining Melbourne in 1939. He was 19th man in the flag side of that year, but is best remembered for blanketing Jack Dyer in the 1940 Grand Final and helping the Demons to back-to-back flags.
O’Keefe won a third flag in 1941 before crossing to Glenferrie in 1943. He spent three years there before joining South Melbourne. |
